Description

The Point-of-Entry Total Arsenic Removal System is made up of three or more sealed polyglass tanks connected in series. (Tanks are also referred to as columns). The System occupies approximately 3-7 square feet of floor space depending on model selected. The System is instrumented with on/off valves, sample collection ports, pressure gauges, a flow restrictor and a totalizer flow meter. All tanks are fitted with a valved head assembly to control inflow, outflow or by-pass. All fittings and connections within the System are 1 inch, "L" type copper. All System components and media are NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Certified.

Untreated water flows from the pressure tank or existing pre-treatment (i.e. water softener) to Column 1, the first tank of the System. Column 1 contains ATS A/P Complex 2002 Oxidation Media, to oxidize Arsenic III to Arsenic V. Water flows from Column 1 to Column 2, then to Column 3. Columns 2 and 3 are duplicate columns each filled with ATS Complex 2000 or 2001 Arsenic Adsorption Media. Column 2 operates as the primary worker column to remove total arsenic. Column 3 operates as a back up guard column. When the media in the worker column is exhausted, it will be replaced with fresh media. In cases where the water chemistry has a complex profile, additional treatment columns may be recommended.

All of the treated water from the arsenic removal system flows through a Carbon Filter Unit that contains coconut shell carbon. This cartridge reduces any objectionable tastes or odors that may exist in the well water. The System is completely neutral with regard to tastes and odors it neither causes them nor treats for them. Water flows from the carbon unit to the main water line supplying the house.

The System can process a flow rate up to 12 gallons per minute for the As/1200 and 8 gallons per minute for the As/800. The System operates at pressures between 30 psi and 80 psi.
